Our Lady of Fatima told us that most souls go to Hell because of sins of the flesh. In this day and age where impurity and sins of the flesh are so rampant, we believe it is of extreme importance to instill a love and desire for the virtue of purity. Centuries ago, young maidens would take vows of chastity while quite young, promising God to be spouses of Him alone. What a beautiful concept!

What we are recommending here, though, is not a perpetual vow of chastity, unless, of course, it is God's Will, but rather, a vow to remain absolutely pure, in mind and body, for the spouse God has chosen for them, should marriage be their vocation. And if not, then that they promise to remain pure for Jesus Christ alone.

Perhaps a little ceremony could be celebrated in which they sign a Vow of Purity contract and receive a 'purity ring' as a perpetual remembrance of the occasion.. In preparation for the ceremony, the young person could pray a Novena to St. Maria Goretti and read a story on her to learn more about her and what she died for.

On this page, you will find both the 9 Day Novena to St. Maria Goretti and the Certificates for the Vow of Purity. We sincerely hope and pray that you will find them useful aids in helping your children to be pure.

"If we wish to see any improvement in the state community or the family, the family must, in common with the Church, educate the children in Christianity. It is true that the hope of a better future is founded on a good, obedient youth." ~ St. John Vianney
