Well, it's August already, I'm not sure how that happened! I suppose it is waaay past time to update you all on our doings. Between our families growing and changing, homeschooling, and all life's busyness, this last year went by very quickly. New projects took a backseat to changing printers. Sounds like a straightforward enough process, doesn't it? Well, it isn't!! Everything needs tweaks, adjustments, edits, more tweaks, quality control issues... and on and on. We do have 2 new books coming out this summer. The first is an addition to our handwriting practice line, Cursive Handwriting Practice Book 1 Virtues. This is not a beginning cursive, which we do hope to have put together eventually, but a daily practice book. We will be adding more manuscript and cursive practice books in the future. While our first manuscript handwriting book was geared toward the lower elementary age student, this first cursive practice is geared toward the upper elementary or middle school age student. The second book is for the middle to high school age group, Independent Studies Literary Analysis. This workbook is to be used in conjunction with your older students' literature selections, up to 4 novels. We mentioned this one last summer, but it didn't quite get finished. I used it with some of my children last year and made some adjustments and feel it is finally ready to go. These books are in their final stages and we anticipate that they will be available before the end of this month.
Remember our products are available through St. Jerome Homeschool Library and also on Amazon. We figured it was high time for an update around here. If you haven't been here in awhile, you may not have noticed that the site is under construction. Please bear with us. Even though we are no longer selling our physical products here on our site, they are nevertheless still available! St. Jerome Library has generously offered to carry our books, so please do go on over and check them out! St. Jerome's carries a HUGE selection of books from many various suppliers, often at cheaper prices than anywhere else! They are fabulous to work with and great at answering any questions you may have. Here are the direct links to some of our products: Copywork and Dictation Learning Grammar Through Writing Planners Lighted Lanterns What's New? We are currently working on a lovely Handwriting Series that combines building character and handwriting skills. The first book - Book 1 - beginner manuscript - will hopefully be available in a few weeks. (The first book is just practice and instruction; no quotes.) And since we ourselves are much in need of a workbook for our Grade 5-8 children, (have been for a while!), we are also working on an Independent Study workbook that meets that need! Tailorable to each child, and great for those who want to have their children study the same thing / read the same books - now you can collaborate your language arts studies! Great for those who love to do relaxed learning, Charlotte Mason educators, and Natural Method proponents. We hope to have this ready for the new school year. Please say a prayer that we can do so. :) Writing Purposes is still in the making, we don't have a projected finish date yet, but it is high on the radar!

I had the pleasure of reading an advanced copy of this book. I thoroughly enjoyed the story by this talented teen author. This fictional story really highlights how difficult and dangerous it was to be one of the early Christians. There are so many great discussion topics throughout the story that readers of all ages can ponder. Marcus not only faced bullies, but he also had to decide if his faith was worth defending when faced with the brutality of the Roman government. Marcus’ Last Stand would make a great teaching tool for families. An impressive accomplishment for this new young talent. I look forward to reading more from her in the future.
~ Leslea Wahl, author of award-winning Catholic Teen Fiction A brand new story set in Ancient Rome. Geared for approximately 5th grade readers, but great for the whole family! A lovely addition to Ancient Rome studies. It’s 99 AD and Trajan is Emperor of Rome. Christianity is looked down on, and Trajan wants nothing more than to see the new religion’s leader, Clement, killed. And he knows exactly how to accomplish his mission: capture a Christian, and torture him into submission. Meanwhile, 15-year-old Marcus is struggling with his Faith, even after a humiliating event in his past. When Marcus is arrested and imprisoned, he must choose between his faith and his life. Will he bend under torture? Or will he make the ultimate sacrifice? Available on Amazon.com |
