Advent Activity Downloads Available Again!

11/28/2022

They're back!

It has been so long since we last posted or shared anything. But, we're happy to announce that we have just made our downloadable Advent Activities available once again.

These sweet activities are a fun and educational means to keep our children focused on preparing their hearts for the Christ Child.

There are five different levels: pictures, words, catechism questions (easier/more difficult), and Bible Quotes, and three different options for each level.

Plus, there are three Combos that contain one of each level.

Each activity comes with an instruction sheet that contains the Christmas Novena Prayer, lyrics to an Advent hymn, and a little thought or assignment for each day. For example: "St. John the Baptist said to make straight the way of the Lord. Today put things in their place in your room and in the kitchen. Repeat to yourself St. John's words: 'Prepare ye the way of the Lord.'"

We pray that these little activities help draw your children's hearts closer and closer the Christ Child.

August!

8/2/2019

Well, it's August already, I'm not sure how that happened! I suppose it is waaay past time to update you all on our doings. Between our families growing and changing, homeschooling, and all life's busyness, this last year went by very quickly. New projects took a backseat to changing printers. Sounds like a straightforward enough process, doesn't it? Well, it isn't!! Everything needs tweaks, adjustments, edits, more tweaks, quality control issues... and on and on.

We do have 2 new books coming out this summer.
Picture
The first is an addition to our handwriting practice line, Cursive Handwriting Practice Book 1 Virtues. This is not a beginning cursive, which we do hope to have put together eventually, but a daily practice book.
We will be adding more manuscript and cursive practice books in the future. While our first manuscript handwriting book was geared toward the lower elementary age student, this first cursive practice is geared toward the upper elementary or middle school age student.

The second book is for the middle to high school age group, Independent Studies Literary Analysis. This workbook is to be used in conjunction with your older students' literature selections, up to 4 novels. We mentioned this one last summer, but it didn't quite get finished. I used it with some of my children last year and made some adjustments and feel it is finally ready to go.

These books are in their final stages and we anticipate that they will be available before the end of this month.

Remember our products are available through St. Jerome Homeschool Library and also on Amazon.

Good News! And updates...

We figured it was high time for an update around here. If you haven't been here in awhile, you may not have noticed that the site is under construction. Please bear with us.

Even though we are no longer selling our physical products here on our site, they are nevertheless still available! St. Jerome Library has generously offered to carry our books, so please do go on over and check them out! St. Jerome's carries a HUGE selection of books from many various suppliers, often at cheaper prices than anywhere else! They are fabulous to work with and great at answering any questions you may have. Here are the direct links to some of our products:
Copywork and Dictation
Learning Grammar Through Writing

Lighted Lanterns

What's New?

We are currently working on a lovely Handwriting Series that combines building character and handwriting skills. The first book - Book 1 - beginner manuscript - will hopefully be available in a few weeks. (The first book is just practice and instruction; no quotes.)
Picture
And since we ourselves are much in need of a workbook for our Grade 5-8 children, (have been for a while!), we are also working on an Independent Study workbook that meets that need! Tailorable to each child, and great for those who want to have their children study the same thing / read the same books - now you can collaborate your language arts studies! Great for those who love to do relaxed learning, Charlotte Mason educators, and Natural Method proponents. We hope to have this ready for the new school year. Please say a prayer that we can do so. :)
Picture
Writing Purposes is still in the making, we don't have a projected finish date yet, but it is high on the radar!
Picture
As our products become available, they will also be sold on Amazon.  Because of a printer change, the majority of our books will no longer be spiral-bound, but instead, perfect-bound. We have updated both Level A and B workbooks. Now, in the Second Editions, both manuscript and cursive are in the same book. The Level A Reader Companion Second Edition has also been updated to include all the stories that the workbook's  Copywork Selections are taken from. This change in the reader necessitated different Copywork Selections in the Level A workbook, so please note this change if you plan to order them. You will want a Second Edition Reader to go with the Second Edition Workbook. Lighted Lanterns Level B Second Edition also includes both manuscript and cursive in one book. No changes were made to the Level B Reader.

Review on Amazon:

Rachel M:

"If you are at all familiar with Susan Peek's novels (Crusader King, St. Magnus, A Soldier Surrenders) you will love this book. The story carries you along at a fast pace and kept my interest throughout. It's really a book for the whole family; ages 8 to adult, I would say. Though placed in ancient times, this book has an overall theme that is relatable to any and every era, even those in which there may not be physical martyrdoms taking place. Grab a cup of coffee (or chicory coffee is you're like me), settle down into your favorite chair, and read this book straight to finish. You won't be able to put it down, so be forewarned. The illustrations are also lovely and fit with the style."
And finally, if you know of any retailers that would be interested in selling our products, could you let us know? We'd like to get our products out there! Or, if you know of a supplier, perhaps you could recommend our products to them and they can reach out to us at:

We hope you have a lovely remainder of summer!

Cascia Books Updates

7/3/2018

We hope everyone is enjoying a lovely summer so far!

As mentioned in a previous post, we are going through some big changes soon.

First, just a reminder that almost all our products' prices have been slashed to ridiculously low prices. Well below our cost in the case of Lighted Lanterns. These prices will never be seen again!

The products we currently have in stock won't be available long, you only have until the end of August to buy whatever happens to be in stock, as we are shutting down our store part of the site. The products will still be available, perhaps not all of them right away, but only through resellers and Amazon.

This also means that ALL DOWNLOADS WILL NO LONGER BE AVAILABLE. While most of our downloads are simply digital versions of physical products, some are not, namely, the Advent Activities. If you have never checked them out, now would be a good time to do so! They will probably never be available again.

So, come on over and check out what we have left and take advantage of some great deals. The online store will shut down either Aug. 31, 2018, or when all our stock is gone, whichever comes first.

We also thought you might enjoy a couple reviews of our latest publication: Marcus' Last Stand, that is available on Amazon.com

I had the pleasure of reading an advanced copy of this book. I thoroughly enjoyed the story by this talented teen author. This fictional story really highlights how difficult and dangerous it was to be one of the early Christians. There are so many great discussion topics throughout the story that readers of all ages can ponder. Marcus not only faced bullies, but he also had to decide if his faith was worth defending when faced with the brutality of the Roman government. Marcus’ Last Stand would make a great teaching tool for families. An impressive accomplishment for this new young talent. I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

Brand new story! Marcus' Last Stand

A brand new story set in Ancient Rome. Geared for approximately 5th grade readers, but great for the whole family! A lovely addition to Ancient Rome studies.

It’s 99 AD and Trajan is Emperor of Rome. Christianity is looked down on, and Trajan wants nothing more than to see the new religion’s leader, Clement, killed. And he knows exactly how to accomplish his mission: capture a Christian, and torture him into submission.

Meanwhile, 15-year-old Marcus is struggling with his Faith, even after a humiliating event in his past. When Marcus is arrested and imprisoned, he must choose between his faith and his life. Will he bend under torture? Or will he make the ultimate sacrifice?

*All Lighted Lanterns Level A products are at a crazy low discount! Less than our cost! And with the discount code above, you can save even more!!

What are we working on now? Well, God-willing, we will have completed before the summer is out:

~ A couple of handwriting books that focus on character building. What a great way to impress virtue on the minds and hearts of youth, and improve handwriting at the same time!
~ Writing Purposes! Hopefully this is the summer that sees to fruition this terrific resource. Your student will learn how to write creative sentences, paragraphs, letters, book reviews, reports, summaries, articles, poetry, and more!
~ We are not sure this one will make the cut this summer, but it is our desire to get a workbook out for the middle grades, one that is very relaxed and tailorable to your student. And eventually we are hoping to get out Lighted Lanterns Levels D, E, F, and G!

Changes are happening here, and while the future is uncertain, we are excited about the prospect of having many more products available in the near future!

God bless you and your families!

Holy Mary, pray for us.

"If we wish to see any improvement in the state community or the family, the family must, in common with the Church, educate the children in Christianity. It is true that the hope of a better future is founded on a good, obedient youth." ~ St. John Vianney
